Guatemala
in
I’m thrilled to be your retreat host, and to have the privilege of cultivating an incredible experience for you in Guatemala to write, explore, and enjoy!
Details
April 12 – April 18, 2024
Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
I am partnered with a team in Guatemala that has over twenty years’ experience bringing American travelers to Guatemala.
This will be my eighth time organizing a Guatemalan retreat, and my fourth time traveling there. All this is to say that you will be in good hands.
Before you travel, you’ll receive a detailed letter covering everything you need to know, from packing and changing money to weather (generally around 70-75 degrees in the daytime, cooler at night, never humid), and much more.
Travel
You will fly to Guatemala City Airport (GUA) where a driver will be waiting to take you to the small, beautiful city of Antigua (about an hour away, depending on traffic) where you will spend the night at the top rated luxury boutique hotel, Meson Panza Verde.
I will be waiting for you at the hotel, where we will be joined by the other participants for a group dinner before we head to Lake Atitlan the next morning.
Schedule
Each morning will begin with optional outdoor yoga overlooking the lake, followed by a delicious breakfast prepared Rosa and her team, who have been cooking for travelers to the region for years (and can accommodate dietary restrictions).
After breakfast you will have the option of gather for writing and sharing time.
Prompts and guided exercises will be given, and we will share and hold space for each other as a group to witness and receive the writing with supportive and positive feedback.
The remainder of the day will be filled with optional activities, meals and excursions, followed by nightly fireside readings.
